About the College
Exeter College is the home of the South West CTEC. The largest land mass region of England, spanning over 9,000 miles, our reach stretches from the Isles of Scilly to Dorset and Gloucestershire. The programme is steered by experts in construction education, apprenticeship provision and curriculum development. With one of the country’s largest construction apprenticeship provisions, our mission is to support the creation of employer-led curriculum, that produces more site-ready staff, more apprenticeship vacancies and more industry specialist teachers.
Our hope is that by March 2029, the South West will benefit from a confident community of practice, in which providers and employers work as one, delivering the right skills, at the right time, safely and sustainably, with benefits felt by learners, industry and local economies. This is achievable from working closely with our regional colleges and delivery partners – The Cornwall College Group and City of Bristol College. Highlighting the best practice of other pioneering institutions in the area, and sharing this through regional events, online resources, and regular summits is just a few of the initiatives that the SWCTEC is using to translate meaningful conversations into actionable change.
We are always looking to expand our network and reach – if you would like to get involved, have access to exclusive resources and join our mailing lists you can do so through our website.
