About the College
The South East Construction Technical Excellence College (SECTEC) is led by North Kent College, as its Hub, in delivery partnership with East and Mid Kent Colleges and leading employers.
Our region has over 30 colleges and many more independent training and employer providers delivering construction training provision, spread over 7,000 square miles.  Collectively the scale, capacity and potential exists, including fantastic facilities to deliver high quality provision in trades, renewables, civils and more. Across our region this provides a fantastic foundation from which to tailor and grow training provision that meets the needs of the construction sector and the regional economy. Â
Through creation of a powerful collaboration between employers and skills providers, the SECTEC will provide capacity, scale and momentum to achieve a real step change in improving the range, quality and access of construction training across the South East of England. This will help supply a skilled and sustainable workforce equipped to deliver the housing and infrastructure requirements of the region.
The SECTEC is about partnership working in a way that harnesses and builds on the expertise and capabilities that exist across the region, working within local structures to create and share knowledge and resources regionally. The SECTEC is currently working with colleges and stakeholders across the region to develop an effective and sustainable model that will enable and support growth and quality locally and across the region.
